We presented a paper at the 2005 TAPPI Engineering, Pulping and Environmental Conference in Philadelphia , entitled “The Myth of Commodity Pulps”.  Using “The World of Market Pulp CD Book” market pulp database, we showed that the Northern Bleached Softwood Kraft (NBSK) pulps are too different to be considered a commodity.  In fact, we demonstrated that producers and users could obtain significant cost and performance benefits by using the NBSK pulp best suited for a particular product and process system.  Click here to see this paper.
